To ensure we can continue to provide the highest levels of dental care and service to all of our patients, we are undergoing re credentialing with all of our current insurance companies and unfortunately, it’s not a seamless process as it was described to us and both the process and the timeline is controlled by the insurance companies. We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this process with all of our insurance companies.
Please Note: This insurance re credentialing process won’t affect patients with Delta Dental and Aetna.
Patients with Dental Insurance
If you invest in dental insurance, we want to help you maximize your investment. Our Marietta and East Cobb dental office is happy to process and file dental insurance claims for the majority of PPO plans in the marketplace. Currently, we accept dental insurance from most PPO insurance companies and dental financing through Care Credit®.
We understand that for many the thought of dental insurance causes anxiety and headaches. Our team can help you best understand your dental benefits and avoid any unexpected fees.
Every month, you pay a premium to cover the cost of your dental insurance. The dental insurance company sets average fees for common dentistry services, focusing on preventive dental care. The dental insurance policy provides coverage for a percentage of these average fees and you pay the difference, based on a percentage set by the policy. Most plans also have annual maximums that limit the total amount of coverage you’ll either pay out-of-pocket or the amount of covered dental treatment they will pay. In most cases, your dental coverage will look something like these:
- 80 to 100% of the average fees of preventive dentistry services are covered
- 50 to 80% of the average fees of restorative (fillings, crowns, etc…) dentistry services are covered
- About 50% of the average fees of orthodontic dentistry (braces) services are covered
- Dentures, bridges, partials, dental implants and cosmetic dentistry are usually not typically covered
The insurance process behind the scene
When you come to Encore Dental Care we will submit your dental claim to your insurance. A lot of times we are able to estimate the portion that you are supposed to pay, but it is not until we received the processed claim that we are able to accurately calculate what you owe. But please feel free to call our front desk specialists and they will be able to go over your EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) forms.
The only way to obtain the exact amount from insurance is by sending a pre-estimation of treatment. Those take about 3-4 weeks some times more depending on the treatment and on the dental insurance. A current X-ray and exam is always needed. Those pre-estimations are usually valid for a year.
